Residents and visitors are able to access numerous popular waterfront destinations by simply hopping on one of the 120 bikes available at 11 Metro Bike Share stations located in San Pedro and Wilmington. Anyone with a credit card can walk up to a Bike Share station kiosk and purchase a single 30-minute ride for $1.75, or $5 for a 24-hour access pass that includes rides all day. Brouwerij West is a full-production craft brewery inside historic Warehouse #9 next door to CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. The centerpiece of the LA Waterfront, Downtown Harbor sits on Harbor Boulevard between Fire Station 112 and the Los Angeles Maritime Museum. The area includes a harbor inlet for visiting and recreational vessels, plaza, and pedestrian promenade that features trees and landscaping, decorative lighting, benches, a picnic area, and an overlook pier. The North Promenade extension near Battleship IOWA is a landscaped area that includes park benches with a waterside view. San Pedro Town Square, just south of the Maritime Museum, is under construction and scheduled to open in 2020.

Known locally as "Berth 46," the Port of Los Angeles Outer Harbor is an outdoor event venue and cruise ship dock with a concrete wharf, paved on-site parking, and electrical, water, and sewer connections. Featuring 360-degree views of Cabrillo Beach and San Pedro Bay, this 12-acre site is an ideal waterside location for concerts, festivals, or sporting events in Southern California. A few large-scale events that have taken place in the Outer Harbor include Totem by Cirque du Soleil and Red Bull Global Rallycross. Upcoming concerts include Gnarlytown and the Country Freedom Festival. Also at this location, docked at Berth 49, is the SS Lane Victory Merchant Marine Museum and Memorial, open to the public year-round, and the "Dave Arian Bench," a peaceful place to think and reflect, a favorite spot for the late Harbor Commission Vice President David Arian to meditate.

Wilmington marina occupants and local boaters have easy access to the Wilmington Marina Parkway, three acres of landscaped promenade along Anchorage and Shore roads, just west of the Terminal Island Freeway SR-103, in Wilmington. Amenities include landscaping and irrigation, with more than 200 trees and 2,500 shrubs planted along 2,000 feet of a paved, meandering path. Picnic tables, park benches, trash/recycle receptacles with built in solar-powered trash compactors, and pet stations add to the visitor-friendly environment.

The only Navy battleship on the west coast, Battleship IOWA is an interactive Naval museum and living memorial honoring the U.S. Navy and other military branches through exhibits and special events. Commissioned in 1943, the namesake of the IOWA class of battleships took part in every major military conflict from World War II until the post-Cold War period when it was decommissioned in 1990. The Pacific Battleship Center offers both guided and self-guided tours and educational programs, including overnight stays and youth camps. Subject to additional funding, the popular attraction may grow to include a two-story landside visitor’s center with additional museum space and expanded educational offerings. Did you know Catalina Island is only an hour away from the LA Waterfront by boat? Catalina Sea and Air Terminal operates a passenger ferry terminal—with helicopter service—in San Pedro, located at Berth 92, near the Los Angeles Cruise Terminal. Although the S.P. in S.P. Slip stands for Southern Pacific, the railroads are from yesteryear and the waterfront now takes center stage. This small, quiet landscaped plaza is encircled by a wooden promenade and features the “Ghost Fish 107” sculpture, a 40-foot blue fin tuna by artist Carl Cheng, hung from a galvanized steel frame over the water at Berth 73. Teak bench seating by San Pedro woodworker Harold Greene can also be found near this public art display, just in front of Utro's Café, a small restaurant known for their big burgers and even bigger history with the locals.

Located on the San Pedro Breakwater with no pedestrian access, the historic Los Angeles Harbor Light, more commonly known as Angels Gate lighthouse, has marked the entrance to the Port of Los Angeles since 1913. Now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Angels Gate is the only lighthouse on the West Coast that emits a green light to differentiate itself from other lighthouses in close proximity. In 2012, the Port of Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Cabrillo Beach Boosters, U.S. Coast Guard, Los Angeles Yacht Club and Friends of the Angels Gate Lighthouse, funded the $2.2 million renovation of the historic lighthouse and iconic green lens.

Cabrillo Way Marina® is a nearly 700-slip marina covering 87 acres of land and water in the West Channel/Cabrillo Beach Recreational Complex, located south of 22nd and Miner streets in San Pedro. Operated by Westrec Marinas, this picturesque marina offers Spanish-style architecture, wet slips and dry boat storage, ample parking, and a host of other amenities, including free WiFi, concierge service, a private laundry facility, and even free coffee and donuts on Saturday mornings! Cabrillo Way Marina received the 2018 Boaters’ Choice Award by marinas.com, which recognizes marinas that consistently provide an excellent year-round home for the boating community. Wilmington’s largest park, Wilmington Waterfront Park, is a 30-acre landscaped area that continues along Harry Bridges Boulevard, from Figueroa Street to Lagoon Avenue. A nine-block-long pedestrian and bicycle promenade connects the east to the west end, and the area’s topography consists of a low landform (16 feet) above street level, with gentle grades, landscaping, paths and walkways, benches, water features, pedestrian bridges, restrooms, drinking fountains, lookout binoculars, a children’s playground, and community buildings and public amphitheater. The park is open to the public and serves as an ideal space for family gatherings, sports, performance arts, walking, bicycling, and community events.

22nd Street Park is an 18-acre park overlooking marinas and the Port's Outer Harbor in San Pedro. The park offers walking and biking trails, shade trees, a bocce ball court, restrooms, ample parking and more than four-acres of flat grassy area for recreation—all with a water view. Bounded by 22nd Street, Crescent Avenue, and Miner Street in San Pedro, the area is landscaped with 500 trees, 1,700 shrubs, and nearly five acres of sod. Here, on most weekends, you can find San Pedro locals playing soccer or bocce ball. Other locations in the vicinity include 22nd Street Landing Restaurant and Sportfishing, and the CRAFTED/Brouwerij West marketplace.

One of the most amazing views of the Port can be seen from the Warehouse One Outlook, adjacent to the historic Municipal Warehouse No. 1, the oldest warehouse at the Port of Los Angeles. From this vantage point, you can see clear down the Los Angeles Main Channel and all the way out to the Pacific Ocean. The area offers free parking, a lighted outlook platform, and benches to enjoy the view.

The Fanfare Fountains at Gateway Plaza, located at the bottom of the Harbor Boulevard exit off the I-110 freeway, feature choreographed water jets synchronized to music and lights that build a dramatic waterfront entryway for visitors. From an overhead view, the fountains are shaped to resemble a sailboat. The twin fountains are obliquely bisected by a 12-foot walkway that sits 12 inches below the basin level of the fountain. A black granite infinity edge creates a waterfall over the basin ledge and into a trough flowing under the walkway, giving visitors an unforgettable experience of walking through water. A reflection pool to accompany the foundation is just steps away north across Swinford Street. Swimming or playing inside these water features is discouraged, as the water used is constantly recycling and non-chlorinated.

The Harbor Boulevard Parkway Promenade is a pedestrian promenade that runs parallel to Harbor Boulevard, from Swinford Street to 5th Street in San Pedro. This multi-use parkway features a bike lane, pedestrian walkway, pocket parks, lighting, landscaping irrigation, signage, and public art. At 2nd Street and Harbor Boulevard, the promenade features an interactive fountain where there is no boundary between people and water, and visitors can get as wet as they like in jets that leap playfully out of the pavement—a great location for small children and animals to cool off.

The Vincent Thomas Bridge Lighting Committee began raising funds in 1988, overcoming numerous regulatory hurdles to come up with the distinctive blue lights that light up the signature green Vincent Thomas Bridge at night. Designated as the City of Los Angeles' official welcoming monument in 1999, the Vincent Thomas Bridge was the first bridge in the world to be illuminated by solar-powered LEDs in 2005. Although there is no pedestrian walkway on the bridge, some of the best photo opportunities of the bridge are on the LA Waterfront, including the Los Angeles Cruise Ship Promenade, Downtown Harbor, and aboard Battleship IOWA.

The Los Angeles Cruise Ship Promenade is the first dedicated open space and public boardwalk at the Port of Los Angeles, which includes four acres of prime waterfront property, situated between the Vincent Thomas Bridge and World Cruise Center in San Pedro. The Promenade is located at the intersection of Swinford Street and Harbor Boulevard and is easily accessible from the Harbor Boulevard off-ramp of the I-110 and CA-47 freeways. Parking at this location is free for one hour in the Catalina Sea and Air Terminal parking lot.

Renovation and expansion of the Port of Los Angeles World Cruise Center included interior and exterior upgrades designed for more efficient passenger processing and implementation of U.S. Department of Homeland Security requirements. The spacious improvements allowed for smooth passenger flow and accommodation of the world’s largest cruise ships, carrying more than 3,000 passengers and 1,500 crew members.
